When DYO Fabulous Jewellery invited me to come along to a Newcastle Fashion Week fringe event held at Nancy's Bordello of course I said yes. After looking at their website I was really looking forward to seeing what they had to offer in person. The first thing I spotted as I walked into the room after the wine was a table full of amazing jewellery. Also all around the room were pieces that had been designed using the online DYO (Design Your Own) tool, which will be available to use on their website soon. Basically if you have an idea for a certain necklace you'd like for an outfit - you can create pretty much the exact necklace you would like online and DYO make it for you. The above image is an example of a digital design you may create, and how it will look in real life.

Another amazing thing about DYO Fabulous Jewellery is that they are completely ethical. No immoral overseas working conditions, everything is made here in the UK and every single pendant, bead, pearl, semi precious stone has been sourced by the Creative Director & Founder - Janet. Janet is clearly very passionate about her brand and emphasised the importance of UK based production.

We then had the chance to join in on the jewellery masterclass to create our very own princess pendant necklace, which was actually really interesting. There were so many different chains, beads, pendants and fastenings to choose from. We had a step by step guide along with actual demonstrations to help us along with the processes. It was pretty fiddly but it was really enjoyable and it's made me really interested in creating more of my own jewellery - it's completely unique. Once the DYO tool is available to use online I'll definitely be trying it out to create my own designs.

  1. Gemstones are latest in trend and it's craze will never end.! Also when it's the chance to create jewellery using gemstones by our own that's really an interesting task..no one can reject that opportunity!
